Outernet London: True Immersion
In the heart of London lies an innovative space called Outernet that shows the opportunities of entertainment technology. With its innovative fusion of technology and artistry, it offers a unique immersive experience. We visited Outernet in November when it had a show with digital artwork by Bjarne Melgaard - a Norwegian artist. It was part of the BFI London Film Festival Expanded 2023.
If you haven't heard of Outernet, then you're in for a treat. It's not just another attraction; it's a universe unto itself. The giant digital billboard outside pulls visitors in, but when you enter you are actually surrounded by screens.
During our visit Uniqlo had taken over Outernet. The interactive content provided by Uniqlo transformed the space into a winter wonderland, inviting visitors to engage in playful activities such as making virtual snow angels. It was a brilliant example of how brands can integrate themselves into an immersive experience, creating a world that is both entertaining and engaging.
Outernet shows the possibilities of technologies, offering a glimpse into a future where technology and art converge to create experiences that are truly unforgettable.
